PICKLEBALL COACHING

MASTER THE GAME. WIN MORE POINTS.

ONLINE COURSES WITH CHRIS K THE COACH

Pickleball may look simple, but winning consistently requires understanding the three phases of the game.

Every rally flows through these three stages:

  1. The Two Bounce Game

  2. The Transition Game

  3. The Kitchen Game

When you master these three phases, you control the court, dictate points, and become a much more dangerous player.

Each phase requires specific skills, movement patterns, and decision-making strategies.

Our courses break down these elements so you can practice smarter and improve faster.

1. THE TWO BOUNCE RULE

BUILD THE FOUNDATION OF EVERY POINT

Every rally begins with the two bounce rule.

The serve, return and third shot create the first opportunity to gain control of the point. If you can apply pressure early, you make the rest of the rally much easier.

The key weapon in this phase is a powerful and reliable forehand.

This phase includes:

• The serve
• The return of serve
• The third shot drive

Players who can generate power, depth, and consistency immediately put opponents on the defensive.

Forehand Drive Mastery Course

This course teaches you how to develop a powerful and consistent forehand drive, one of the most important offensive weapons in pickleball.

You will learn:

• Proper grip and stance
• Efficient swing mechanics
• How to generate power without losing control
• Timing and contact point
• Drills to develop consistency and accuracy

By improving your forehand drive, you can attack weak returns, apply pressure, and set up easier points.

2. THE TRANSITION GAME

CONTROL THE COURT

The transition zone is where many points are won or lost.

Players often struggle moving from the baseline to the kitchen because they lack the correct movement patterns, shot selection, and court awareness.

Strong transition play allows you to:

• Move safely to the kitchen line
• Keep opponents back
• Maintain offensive pressure
• Avoid getting stuck in the mid-court

This phase focuses on learning how to move forward intelligently while maintaining control of the rally.

Skills in this phase include:

• Approach shots
• Reset shots

• Defensive control
• Transition movement patterns

When you master the transition game, you stop giving away easy points and start dictating the pace of the rally.

3. THE KITCHEN GAME

WHERE MOST POINTS ARE WON

Once both teams reach the kitchen line, the game changes.

This phase becomes a battle of precision, patience, and positioning.

The best players at the kitchen know how to:

• Control dinks
• Create angles
• Force mistakes
• Recognize attack opportunities

The kitchen game requires excellent touch, decision making, and anticipation.

Skills in this phase include:

• Dinking strategy
• Speed-ups
• Counter attacks
• Positioning and court coverage

Players who dominate the kitchen control the rally and force their opponents into difficult situations.

A SYSTEMATIC APPROACH TO IMPROVEMENT

Many players try to improve by simply playing more games.

But real improvement comes from targeted skill development.

Our courses follow a structured learning system:

  1. Learn the mechanics

  2. Practice the drills

  3. Apply the skills in game situations

This allows players to develop skills faster and transfer them directly into match play.
